A showcase lighting specification needs to fit the cabinet as well as the display. Before production drawings are finalised, review the luminaire dimensions, track profile, cable route and space for a compatible power supply.
This checklist helps showcase fabricators, shopfitters and designers prepare a practical enquiry for KECENT. It applies to new cabinets, refits and repeat supply.
1. Show the installation space
Provide an internal cabinet drawing or a clear sketch. Mark the proposed track location, shelf levels, glazing, cable entry and areas available for service access. Include the material and thickness around the mounting point.
A track's overall dimensions and its required installation opening are different measurements. Confirm both against the actual model before cutting or machining a panel.
2. Describe what the cabinet will display
State the object type, typical height, tray arrangement and viewing position. Record the likely lighting distance rather than only the cabinet's external size. Explain whether the display needs individual accents, a broader illuminated area, or both.
3. Review the electrical configuration
- Identify the luminaire and track system by model reference.
- Confirm the luminaire input and the driver's output type, voltage and usable load.
- Show power entry, cable runs, connectors and how the driver can be accessed.
- State any dimming or control requirement separately.
The project installer should confirm mains-side installation and local electrical requirements. A familiar-looking magnetic base or connector is not sufficient evidence of compatibility.
4. Build the bill of materials
For each cabinet, list the luminaire type and quantity, rail profile and lengths, power supply, feeds, joining components and any required covers. Separate the per-cabinet list from the total project quantity.
For custom dimensions or finishes, identify the exact change requested. Availability, feasibility, price and lead time are confirmed against the agreed configuration.
5. Approve a sample and record the revision
Use a representative cabinet or section to review fit, cable routing, access and display appearance. Record the approved model references, options and drawing revision. Changes after sampling should be checked for their effect on the matching components.
Information to send with your enquiry
- Company, contact and project destination.
- Application, cabinet drawing and lighting distance.
- Cabinet quantity and proposed luminaire quantity per cabinet.
- Existing system or replacement references, where relevant.
- Requested finish, control needs and target project date.
Start with the information available. A clear sketch and photographs are useful when production drawings are not ready.
